I have read this book and enjoyed it immensely. It is very informative and written with a heart. I happen to have lost my copy in a move to another country, so if Mr. Shearon happens to read this, please contact me so I can buy another copy!!

the book describes an event in the canadian military history while operating for the UN in Somalia. First the situation is depicted under which operations took place, then the culture of the unit was investigated and described. Reason because this military culture could perhaps be seen as a reason for the breakdown of discipline in Somalia. This proved to be correct.

As a new Social Studies teacher I found it hard to find any material on the usefulness of certain materials and good suggestions on the use of them in the classroom. This book had both! I also found that this books provides a wonderful critique on how minorities are portrayed in Social Studies Textbooks, in the past and present. This book also gives suggestions for lesson planning and unit planning which I found very useful and comprehensive. Overall this was the best Social Studies teaching guide I have yet to encounter and am thankful to the authors for writing it. Thank you.

A 1996 reprint of the 1985 volume, this book provides a complete overview of the Canadian Army from its involvement in the South African War in 1900 where they won 4 VC's, to the massive mobilisation for its committment to the battles of attrition of World War One at Ypres, the Somme and Passschendaele, and on into World War Two. Their campaigns in the Pacific, at Dieppe, the Mediterranean and North-West Europe are well covered, and also UN involvement post-war.

Another beautifully illustrated and well-researched book from Mike Chappell. It ranks equal with his other titles in the Osprey range on Battle Insignia, Battledress, and British Infantry Equipments.

If you are a collector of Canadian Bank Notes, this book is an absolute necessity. Currently, there are no other similar resources available.

Newcomers to the hobby often confuse Canadian Bank Notes with currency issued by the Government of Canada. This guide will keep you straight as it lists all the issues from the private banks that no longer exist but once competed with the government in the printing of money. It contains a description of the banks, images of all the notes, as well as book values at various grades from G to UNC.

Even if you are just a casual collector of Bank of Canada issues, this catalogue may peak your interest. I find that the bank notes tend to be more artistic, and they all have historical, cultural and regional significance which makes for an interesting endeavour.

I agree with the Rebecca's analysis indicating that Concordia University in Montreal is a very fine Canadian business school. I know many successful graduates in Montreal and Toronto working for various large companies.

If you collect Canadian coins, this book is invaluable. This book has a section on how to grade Canadian coins with an emphasis on what to look for when grading coins. Although the prices are in Canadian Dollars, the values are in some ways higher than Krause. Included are pattern and trial stike coins, as well as sections on pre-1867 coinage and Newfoundland. This book is to Canadian Coins what Red Book is for US Coins.

Definitely not just a coffee table edition, it's a scholarly work that people will find themselves turning to again & again. It not only attempts to cover every imaginable form but also provides ethnic & geographical origins relevant to the construction,design,use & decoration of the objects. I heartily reccomend "Canadian country furniture" to you based on the quality of the research & the plain manner in which it is presented. This will prove to be an invaluable reference to the decorator,dealer & collector. Most of all it will be enjoyed by all who enjoy reading about the development of a furniture form & it's historic context. I deal with Credit and Collections in Canada on a daily basis, and I have referenced this book on several occasions where it has helped me immensely. I would recommend this book to anyone who has credit issues in Canada

The cd has a lot of questions and tells you where you need to study. I couldn't believe that there was software out that would even have a soap carving guide too.

I liked the soap carving guide. It has a lot of actual color pictures that goes step by step. I think it helped me finish the carving when I wrote the real test.

I also like the timer that showed you which question you were suppose to be on.

This is a nice deal. The company's website Scholarware.com also has some good advice on studying and getting into dental school

I definitely recommend this product.
